hotels or inns in bangkok thailand. i prefer more the ones near the baiyoke sky hotel (pratunam) because it is very accessible. Although, the price for the hotel i mentioned is for the next trip. this time, i'd rather stay at an affordable and comfortable-enough place. thanks in advance! hoping for more answers to come in. thanks again
Here's a map of the Pratunam area in Bangkok that show most of the hotels, if you click on the numbers you'll get information on the hotels with links to reviews, facilities and pictures:

First, "affordable" doesn't mean the same for everyone! Do you have a dollar value or baht value that you are looking for? In other words, how much per night do you want to spend?
Some people think that the Asia Hotel is affordable. From the Asia Hotel you can walk to the Baiyoke Tower Hotel and all of the street vendors. Plus, you can use the Skytrain to get around town. http://www.asiahotel.co.th/asia_bangkok.htm
Slightly less expensive is the Opera Hotel. (No website for the Opera that I could find – only telephone numbers and addresses. Check it out!) The Opera is located not far from the First Hotel, sort of down the side soi and on the right. Opera is on 16 Phetchaburi 11 (Soi Somprasong 1.) http://www.guidetothailand.com/maps-thailand/bangkok-pratunam.php

There are many hotels and inn in that area .
Talking of a reasonable ones u can chk with KHURANA INN.
It is a indian restaurant though with rooms upstairs. It is located just on the right side of the baiyoke sky top hotel.
