if you are a tourist…expect that you will be charge higher than the locals.

1)gameboy games – more than 1000 baht (only get it at the department store or authorised gameboy/nintendo shops because there are a lot of fake/imitation games)
2) silk – it depends where will you get it
3) silver jewelry – it depends where will you get it
4) gold jewelry – 10,900 for 15.2 grams or 1 baht (as they called it in thailand) – gold prices change everyday..you can check at the english newspaper

***If you will buy something at the flea market, sidewalk etc…if they quote the price…make sure you bargain it – half the price and try to look around first because they sell almost the same thing… ;>

We want to travel 1st class and need advice from someone who has done this trip, ie. regarding cost (in AUD or US dollar); do the timetables link up in Bangkok or does one have to stay overnight there. Is it easy to arrange and book the whole trip from KL and how many train changes would we have to make?

it take days to travel from kl to chiang mai by train!!!

Malaysia train service provider (KTMB) only has train service from KL to Had Yai.
>>this is night train: 16hours journey **etd 2000, eta 1000(+1day)

I’ve had no trouble meeting women in bars, for that sort of thing, but I’d like something more than for one night, any idea where to go or what to do to meet a nice girl if you don’t speak Thai?

And to get an idea of price, what? I’m still young enough I don’t have to get paid to get laid, lol.

Yes any decent chemist. But ask a few local ex-pats at a bar, or even better at a cafe reading a paper. I found plenty of expats living in all parts of Thailand and most of them over 50 know all the local prices on good Viagra and the Indian knock offs. Don’t be embarrassed to ask a few dudes. You always can find a guy who loves sharing the info as Vitamin V as they say is a regular legal drug. the Indian knock off works well for many people.

I am living in Chiang Mai, and I’ve heard that although Uni’s and more prestigious schools hire only credentialed individuals, that there are other smaller schools that will hire clean, sharp, professional, and serious individuals. Can you tell me the names of which schools will hire, and, where they are if you can?

I don’t mind pounding the pavement, but, from the way it sounds the ones most likely to hire me, are the ones I’m mostly likely to pass by and not even see to apply at.

I told you before about a job in Ranong but I guess you aren’t interested. Your not a qualified teacher so you best bet is a high school in a rural area. you need to go to these schools and ask for the english department.
