I am going to Koh Samui in Thailand, and would like to travel to Phi Phi island. What is the best way?
I would just like to confirm what would be the best way to travel between the two islands. I have never been and have no idea what is the easiest way to go, especially as I can’t seem to book it before hand. Many thanks.

The best way is air travel or course. You can fly Thai or Bangkok Airlines to Koh Samui and the fly from Koh Samui to Phuket and get a boat to Phi Phi. A cheaper way but takes more time is bus from Bangkok to Samui and then a bus to Krabi and boat to Phi Phi.

There is no easy way to Samui and later to Phi Phi island, because it is on different side of Thailand. Samui is on east side and Phi Phi is on west side, so , if you go to Samui first, you can go back to mainland by boat and get train or bus to Phuket,and by boat to Phi Phi island. Consult your travel agent before you go. Good luck

I suggest flying to Koh Samui. Take a boat to the mainland, then bus to Krabi during the daytime. Rather long ride, but nice views and the buses are good. Stay the night in Krabi and take day boat (I like the big boats better than the speed boats) and take the tour of several islands, including Phi Phi. There are several different island tours and many things to do, using Krabi as your base, but DO NOT stay in the town of Krabi, stay at AoNang beach area would be my recommendation.
If you should decide to fly from Koh Samui to Phuket, do not stay in Phuket Town, that is inland; stay at Patong Beach (a bit sleazy, but lots of tourists, bars, etc.), or Karin beach or one of the others down that way. In Thailand, try not to pay for more than one night ahead, so if you don’t like it, you can look around and move. Just make your reservations for the whole stay.

go to Phuket if you want to visit the Phi Phi Islands. if youre in Koh Samui just go to the Angthong Marine National Park. it basically looks exactly like the Phi Phi Islands only bigger with more islands to see and more things to do. going to the Phi Phi Islands would be a waste of time when youve got the same thing 30 minutes away by boat.

You can fly into Phuket which is quite easy and cheap or take a trip to Phuket via boat and bus packages that they offer, stay in Phuket and all hotels offer Phi Phi day trips. Try to go to both Phi Phi Le and Phi Phi Don, the first is where the movie the beach was filmed, the latter is the larger island but still very quaint. Snorkeling there is amazing and cheap.
