I will be travelling from Bankok to Koh Samui in December, any suggestions of place we should see/skip?

<< How do I get from Koh Samui (Thailand) to Cambodia without having to backtrack?! Thank you?
How do I find out about a summons to court in Koh Samui, Thailand?>>

My friend and I will be backpacking down from Bankok to arrive in Koh Samui in time for the Full Moon party on the 25th of December. We’ll have 2 weeks to get down to Samui and are just looking for any advice…whether it be places to stop along the way to the best way to travel.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

The Last time I visited Koh Samui.. I stayed somewhere near to Chaweng Beach.. It was cool with nice beach and also u can find a very wide range of accommodation down there.

I’d recommend Eranda Herbal located close to chaweng beach .. It’s very great spa with Thai style message and wild mint oil

This site provided some info of Eranda

Koh Samui is a diver’s haven. The warm, tropical waters and beautiful coral reefs off the island make it perfect for scuba diving, therefore, finding lesson and rental places on the island is no difficult feat. Walking, biking, and swimming are all popular outdoor activities whether it be beachside or in the jungle. Paths may change depending on the season, check with your hotel or tour group for the best open paths during your stay.

I strongly recommend Muang Samui Spa Resort. The location was perfect with all shopping, bars and restaurants at your doorstep, and provided a tranquil and dreamy escape from the day-to-day world. It is also set on a more beautiful stretch of beach. The rooms themselves were large, stylish, clean and had all the special touches. The resort is well maintained, is filled with beautiful greenery, little bridges and a creek running thru it. We found that the staff were always friendly and attentive. The breakfasts were also sensational.
