Do you think $2000 US dollars is enough or to much?
Oct 2 to 13
You can easily have a nice time for half the money you have. Up to you, if you must have the most expensive hotels or spend more than many other tourists then you may run out, but in general you have a lot of money for Pattaya!
You can get hotels with air, hot water, private toilet/shower, safety box, TV and daily clean up starting around 450 baht. Something in the 1000 baht range isn’t too bad and much cheaper than Bangkok.
Bus ride to Pattaya from the Ekamai bus station is around 128 baht for the 2 hour ride. Local transportation in Pattaya is 10 baht for set bus routes. A baht bus is a pick up truck with seats in the back. You wave one down and hop on, push buzzer to get off – pay 10 baht. If you tell the driver where to go you pay a custom rate.

All you can eat breakfast buffets start around 110 baht (Apex Hotel and Lek Hotel are two of the places open to the public.) Cheap Western breakfast in small restaurants starts around 45 baht, Tops, Foodland and Villa Market have lunch counters with breakfast and other meals pretty cheap.
So that only leave the drinking and bar hopping. Beer bars are cheaper for everything than go-go bars and night clubs. Your $2000 is more than enough for your short visit.
Get a hotel off or near Pattaya 2nd Road (Pattaya Sai Song) and you will be able to walk to many places such as bars, malls, movie theaters, travel agents for tours and Seven Eleven type stores.

I budget US$100/day. That includes the hotel, beach during the day, food, drinking and companionship. Some days I’m over, some days under but it usually averages less than US$100/day. If you have an ATM card, use the ATM machines and keep most of your money at home. You usually get a better exchange rate even with the bank fees. You don’t have the security problem of what to do with $2000 either. Prices depend on where you stay and what you do. Walking Street prices are more then go-go bars or beer bars. But you have to see Walking Street once. Souvenirs can cost whatever you want to spend but the dice game makes a nice souvenir. When you make your hotel reservations/get a room, determine if they charge extra for the joining fee or if that’s included. As an aside, I stay at the Welkom Resort. Enjoy the trip.
