The best paradise – like places, resorts, for vacation in Thailand?

I’d really like to visit Thailand, i know there are a lot of beutiful places with white sand and beautiful blue sea, palms, gorgeous resorts and other parides like stuff :) ))…but…..i’m really not familiar with the country so i need some suggestions of the best places for vacatons. Also, which one is the most popular and the most exclusive? What about safety? What’s a must to see and do?
And yes – what part of the year, what months are the best for vacations there? And how many hours is the flight from NYC to Thailand?

Thailand is a great place to visit but be prepared because lots of other people think so too.
The best time to visit is early November or March. The rainy season is May through October. It gets very busy at the end of the year and the beginning of the year. The hottest month is April.
There are some nice beaches but no deserted ones. Koh Samui is a small island and the main beach is not very clean. Hotels and guesthouses line the beach.
Phuket is a very large island with some decent beaches. Beach chairs rent for 100 baht per day (5 minutes or all day, the same price). about $3.00.
The sand and beaches are cleaner than they are on Koh Samui.
The main tourist beach on Phuket is Patong. During high season, and the tide is out, chairs can be lined up four deep all up and down the beach. There are tons of people mostly Europeans.
Kata and Karon beaches are a better choice than Patong.

However, if you’re after bars, drinking and picking up girls, Patongs the place to be.
The best tourist beach on Phuket is way down south past Kata and Karon. It’s called Nai Harn beach. It’s a small beach with no motor activity in the water (no jet skis making all kinds of noise) and only two hotels directly off the beach. The Phuket Yacht Club is a great place if you can afford it, and one of the classier hotels on the island.
The water on Nai Harn is cleaner and you can even snorkel and see fish just off the beach.
Beach chairs still do line the entire length of the beach though.
While on Phuket, you can take a day trip to the Phi Phi islands to do some snorkeling and beaching as well.
To get a good taste of Thailand, you should also visit the northern city of Chiang Mai. The prices are cheaper there and there are plenty of temples in and around the old city walls. While in Chiang Mai, you could take a few days and go up to Chiang Rai.
Bangkok is a big modern city with some interesting sights and temples, as well as some very modern flashy shopping centers.
A good basic start would be Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket.
Thailand is a safe country to visit. The people for the most part are friendly.
The flight from NYC will take you at least a full day to get to Thailand depending on the route and stops.

The dryest and coolest months are Nov-March. The flights to Thailand from NYC will total about 22 hours including layovers. The best beach areas for a first timer would be Phuket and Koh Samui with Phuket being the mecca of beach resorts and Koh Samui being more rustic. The northern city of Chang Mai is a great area that is cooler (temp) than the south and laid back. One thing you must do is try ALL the food if just a little bit as you will experience things you never had. Check out some of the temples and also shop till you drop. Everything is cheap so when you pack for your trip, pack light. Safety is not much of an issue as long as common sense is turned on. First of all, you are welcome to Thailand.

I would recommend two islands where there are a lot of great beaches with white sand, beautiful blue sea, palms, gorgeous resorts, as you would love to see.

    1) Phuket, a paradise island of Thailand and the most popular holiday destination of Thailand.
    2) Koh Samui, a hilly isalnd and the second holiday destination of Thailand

You will find some ideas about these two islands through my contents here below.

Have a nice holiday in Thailand.
